Our Portion Guides

ZiwiPeak Cuisine is suitable to feed your pet at any stage of life – from puppy or kitten to mature adults – as long as you monitor the portion size according to the Feeding Calculator.

It is important that you don’t overfeed your pet. Our portion guide has been tested and approved by global animal nutrition specialists. For best results, use the Feeding Calculator and monitor your pet’s condition to adjust if necessary.

The cost of your ZiwiPeak Cuisine per day is the full and final cost for the best nutritional support your pet needs, providing all the nutritional benefits for its long term health.

Dry Cuisine

• When feeding ZiwiPeak air dried Cuisine 1 portion = 3 portions of raw meat.
• So expect to feed your pet considerably less ZiwiPeak than you would compared to moist canned products or other dry kibble products.
• This is because our air dried Cuisine is made from over 90% real raw meat and organs, with the moisture gently removed using our unique air drying process.
• Always follow the Feeding Calculator guidelines. 

Moist Cuisine

• We offer a moist Cuisine for those pets and pet owners who prefer to eat a moist food.
• The moist range is made from a minimum of 66% raw meat, the rest consisting of moisture from the meat and vitamins and minerals for a complete and balanced diet.
• You may also choose to feed a mixture of air dried and moist, but it is important to pay attention to the different respective portion sizes when doing this.

Switching Your Cat or Dog to ZiwiPeak

Increasing numbers of pet owners are now recognising the importance of feeding their loved pet a high quality, raw meat based diet. However, you may initially encounter some resistance from your cat or dog when you make the switch. It is therefore important to take a gradual approach to the switch, introducing ZiwiPeak over five days.

At first just swap a quarter of your pet’s old diet for ZiwiPeak, then for a few days following feed half and half, and then for the remaining days three quarters, before making the final shift to ZiwiPeak.

Cats are well known for being difficult to convince to change foods, even when the change is better for them than their existing diet. Therefore we suggest introducing the ZiwiPeak moist canned cuisine diet to them first and then move them onto ZiwiPeak air dried Cuisine. The other option is to put your cat on a diet of 50/50 ZiwiPeak air dried and moist Cuisine, paying special attention to our feeding guides.

If your dog or cat is particularly sensitive about their food, you may need to make this introduction process longer – even over a few weeks, introducing a little more ZiwiPeak each day.  It is quite normal for some pets to take a long time to become accustomed to new food.

Access to Fresh Water, Always

For your pet’s health and wellbeing they should always have access to fresh, clean water. Drinking plenty of water is normal and aids your pet’s metabolic function.

Storage Instructions

Only 100% natural New Zealand ingredients go in to providing our shelf-stable ZiwiPeak Cuisine. Our air-dried pouches, specially designed to seal in the freshness, are shelf stable and do not require refrigeration. Our moist canned food needs to be refrigerated once opened and used within 7 days. Both air-dried pouches and moist canned food need to be stored away from direct sunlight.
