ZiwiPeak Deer Antler

Thu, Apr 15th, 2010 5:23:14 pm

ZiwiPeak 'Good-Dog' Deer Antlers are a 100% natural, mineral rich, long lasting dog chew.

The antlers are naturally shed and collected for ZiwiPeak, so are from a fully renewable source.

Antlers on deer are basically bone material, but do not crumble or splinter and harm your dog.

Deer antlers are slowly ground down by chewing, providing a dog with enjoyment at the same time as helping to keep teeth and gums healthy.

A mineral analysis of the deer antler show high levels of calcium and phosphorus and trace levels of iron, zinc and sodium.

We have not tested the antler for Protein, but I believe the level would be between 30% - 40%

Does ZiwiPeak have Omega-3 Supplements?

Thu, Feb 18th, 2010 5:16:28 pm

Do you have an Omega-3 supplement for dogs/cats? I am buying one called Moxxor right now, but it is very expensive. I'd like to find another source and I noticed your information of green-lipped mussels.

We do not currently have an Omega 3 Supplement available, however our Daily Cuisine ranges have been developed by Animal Nutritionists to provide a complete and balanced diet for all life stages of cats and dogs.

We include the extracted oil of the Hoki fish which has a high percentage of omega-3 poly-unsaturated fatty acids. One of the main reasons for choosing hoki oil is the high percentage of long-chain fats, EPA and DHA, well-known for their direct anti-inflammatory properties and positive modulation of the immune response. It will also have a very positive effect on our pets coat.

We also include New Zealand Green-lipped Mussel in our Cuisine formulations, which has been shown to have an anti-inflammatory and cartilage repairing function, due to chondroitin and glucosamine. Due to this, we see improvements in joint function, reducing morning stiffness, joint pains caused by arthritis and arthrosis.

I do not know whether you have tried ZiwiPeak Daily Cuisine on your pet(s), but I am sure that if you do you will be very happy with the result.

What fat content is in ZiwiPeak?

Thu, Feb 18th, 2010 10:11:01 am

Firstly on the fat; the fat in ZiwiPeak is what is naturally occurring in the meat of the source species. The percent does look high because of the low moisture in the dry ZiwiPeak, but on an as fed basis our Vet experts which helped us develop ZiwiPeak advise that the levels we have in ZiwiPeak are what is best for Cats & Dogs.

Information on fat; we as humans, tend to be paranoid but fat is an essential source of energy and it also supplies essential fatty acids which play important roles in metabolism, cell membranes and skin permeability in pets.

Cats and Dogs do not get heart attacks from fat around the arteries and must have near the percent we provide to function properly and have the energy they need to move. Otherwise they lack energy and don't burn calories!!
